Bindmans is a Recognised Legal Representative for non-state core participants in the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
The appointed representative is Jules Carey, and in the past it has included Mike Schwarz and Tasmin Allen (former coordinator for the NSCPs’ Coordinating Group).
The firm also represents all the families of deceased individuals whose identities were stolen for use by the undercovers; people from the South Wales Anarchists / Cardiff Anarchist Network – including with regards the relationships of the National Public Order Intelligence Unit officer HN519 / EN1 ‘Marco Jacobs’ ; and several women deceived into relationships by undercovers, including the son of one such relationship.
Other clients in relation to the Undercover Policing Inquiry include Diane Abbott MP and former MP Dame Joan Ruddock, as well as a number of those within the social and environmental protest categories.
