Overview

These are a grouping of non-state core participants who make up Category E (‘Trades unions and trades union members’) within the Undercover Policing Inquiry. 

For the most part, they work through the Non-State Core Participants’ Coordinating Group. The category is made up of individuals and union organisations, including the Blacklist Support Group.

Trade unions designated as core participants are:

  • Fire Brigades Union (FBU)
  • National Union of Mineworkers (NUM)
  • Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians (UCATT), now part of Unite
