Birnberg Peirce is the Recognised Legal Representative for the majority of women deceived into relationships by undercover officers (Category H).
It also represents other non-state core participants, including several family justice campaigns and campaigners (Trevor Monerville, Jean Charles de Menezes campaign, Newham Monitoring Project), as well as several political activists and the National Union of Mineworkers.
Its appointed representatives are Marcia Willis Stewart for Category H and Sarah McSherry for Category J clients (justice campaigns). Previously, Harriet Wistrich and Kate Thomas were the recognised legal representatives. Gareth Peirce represents the National Union of Mineworkers.
